"It is not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves." ~Sir Edmund Hillary, first to climb Mount Everest
By breaking through our own personal barriers we hope to inspire others to achieve what they never dared to dream.
I spoke with my guide last night, and it looks like we have a good weather window this weekend. Saturday will be a skills day to get me used to working with the snow gear (i.e. crampons and ice axe), and then Sunday we will head up Mt. Elbert.
I am spending today resting, hydrating, and stretching out my very sore and stiff back. I just have to push through. Hopefully it will not reach the point where it becomes an issue during the climb and force us to turn back.
I will update again tomorrow and let you all know how the skills day goes.
